Laundry Technician - Full Time

About the role

Perform day to day tasks to maintain a clean environment in a health care organization. Work independently or in a team environment ensuring safe and appropriate handling of laundry using equipment, methods, and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, apply chemicals, adjust water temperatures, and dry laundry as per locations standard processes and policies.
• Collect and distribute clean and disinfected linens based on locations standard processes and policies.
• Store and secure laundry supplies and equipment according to locations standard processes and policies.
• Use protective equipment as outlined in locations standard processes and policies.
• Engage in physical activities including considerable use of arms and legs, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.
• Work on a flat surface or up and down ramps as required.
• Be available for overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior cleaning experience in a healthcare setting is helpful.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record, depending on location.

Qualifications

• Ability to use a computer.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in cleaning is helpful.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record, depending on location.

Skills

• Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 30-50lbs and push/pull up to 500lbs on flat surfaces or up and down ramps.
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
• Computer proficiency.
