About the Role

We are looking for a Laundry Associate to perform the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department. This role ensures an adequate supply of laundry and linen is always available to meet the needs of residents, patients, and staff members, in alignment with our company values of customer service, innovation, integrity, inclusion, financial stewardship, leadership, and care.

Responsibilities

  • Performs laundry functions, including collection, laundering, redistribution, and inventory of linens and personal laundry, following established procedures.
  • Presses/irons garments as instructed.
  • Folds, counts, stacks, hangs, and distributes clean laundry, linen, and garments to residents and linen closets daily or as instructed.
  • Ensures an adequate supply of laundry and linen is maintained in closets to meet resident and staff needs.
  • Adheres to quality assurance, infection control, and universal precaution practices during laundry procedures.
  • Reports damages or needed repairs to a supervisor.
  • Shares observations and insights to improve departmental quality and efficiency.
  • Attends all-employee and departmental meetings, as well as in-service training as scheduled.
  • Listens and responds to the needs of residents and staff members.
  • Honors resident personal and property rights while performing laundry duties.
  • Maintains accurate records using computers or other documentation, in compliance with company, federal, state, and local standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Tenth grade education required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of laundry experience preferred; on-the-job training provided.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Working Conditions

  • Sitting: Up to 1 hour per day.
  • Standing: Up to 8 hours per day.
  • Walking: Up to 8 hours per day.
  • Lifting, transferring, pushing, or pulling: Up to 50 pounds (residents/patients, equipment, or supplies).
  • Work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Occasional exposure to residents/patients with various disease processes.
  • Potential exposure to falls, burns, odors, and cuts during the workday.
  • May be exposed to infectious waste, disease, or conditions, including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
  • Risk Category I for exposure to bloodborne diseases.
