Responsibilities

• Follow work/cleaning schedules as closely as practical.
• Clean walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and waxed floors according to department procedures and cleaning schedules.
• Coordinate daily laundry services with nursing services in resident living areas.
• Dispose of trash and waste, including biohazardous waste, in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Post signs indicating safety hazards and request supervisor assistance if unsure of proper handling techniques.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when at risk of exposure to blood or other potentially hazardous body fluids.
• Comply with all safety instructions and procedures when using chemical substances, referring to labels and Material Safety Data Sheets for instructions.
• Keep all chemicals and cleaning supplies in their original containers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working in a healthcare environment in Environmental Services preferred.
• Friendly attitude and excellent communication skills required.
• Able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff.
