Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring to Latin 1 students.
• Accept on-demand Instant Tutoring requests when available.
• Guide students through Latin morphology, translation techniques, and grammatical analysis.
• Help students parse verb forms, identify noun cases, and translate Latin passages.
• Connect Latin to English vocabulary, Romance languages, and Roman history/mythology.
• Adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.

Requirements

• Advanced mastery of Latin 1 topics: noun declensions (1st–3rd), verb conjugations (present, imperfect, perfect), sentence structure, vocabulary, and Roman cultural/historical context.
• Ability to explain case functions (nominative, accusative, genitive, dative, ablative) and subject-object-verb word order.
• Familiarity with Latin 1 curricula and common challenges (e.g., memorizing paradigms, understanding cases, translation strategies).
• Strong communication skills and an engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
