Responsibilities
- Inspect machined parts, components, assemblies, and materials to verify compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines, including Military Standards, ASTM, AWS, ANSI, and ASME codes.
- Set up and operate measuring and test equipment, including tools and systems that rely on Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Operate Laser Tracker (LEICA type or similar) equipment to achieve part acceptance, including equipment setup, in-process inspection techniques, and final dimensional inspections.
- Utilize Laser Tracker support software programs such as PCDMIS or Polyworks to perform inspections and analyze dimensional data.
- Use Spatial Analyzer software to conduct spatial analysis and validate measurement results.
- Prepare, update, and maintain computer databases and records of inspection results, measurements, and quality reports in both electronic and hard copy formats.
- Provide timely notification and detailed inspection reports to project engineers and other stakeholders regarding inspection results and quality issues.
- Observe testing activities and provide quality oversight to verify compliance with applicable requirements, standards, and procedures.
- Interact with and respond to regulatory agencies and customers during audits and reviews of inspection, calibration, and quality assurance activities.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control or other quality control procedures, as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and management to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) at an intermediate to Subject Matter Expert level.
- Proven ability to program and operate Laser Tracker equipment (LEICA models or similar) to achieve part acceptance.
- Ability to set up and operate measuring and test equipment for dimensional inspection.
- Demonstrated experience using Laser Tracker support software programs such as PCDMIS and/or Polyworks.
- Intermediate level of knowledge using Spatial Analyzer software for spatial analysis.
- Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with inspection, quality control, quality inspection, and quality assurance activities in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting regulatory and customer audits related to inspection and calibration activities.
- Experience with statistical process control or other formal quality control procedures.
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 and related quality standards and practices.
- Experience with spatial analysis and dimensional metrology using laser tracker systems.
- Experience working with Military Standards, ASTM, AWS, ANSI, and ASME codes in an inspection or quality role.
- Experience with ISO 9000 and related quality standards and practices.
- Experience with statistical process control or other formal quality control procedures.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) quality assurance program requirements in a manufacturing environment (highly desirable).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Eligibility to work on projects that require United States citizenship.
