Land Lab Assistant, Student Worker

Duties

• Aid with day-to-day operations of the land lab
• Assist with planting plots
• Apply fertilizer and pesticides as needed
• Scout crops for pests and diseases
• Weekly soil and tissue testing throughout the season
• Maintain and clean equipment
• Assist with harvesting plots
• Mow and sign plots as needed
• Weekly aerial imaging of plots using a drone

Requirements

• Must maintain satisfactory academic progress
• Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) during the semester of employment, except for summer term
• Must complete LLCC's mandatory harassment prevention training within 30 days of employment
• Must possess basic farm knowledge and farm equipment experience
• If working with minors, must successfully complete a criminal background check

Paid at minimum wage
