This position is for the 2026-2027 academic year. 1 position available; Flexible hours, based on class schedule

Job Summary

The student lab technician is responsible for assisting faculty in preparing for laboratory activities and maintaining the biology and chemistry prep areas.

Education/Qualifications

• Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
• Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
• Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Enrolled in or has completed at least two science courses at Sheridan College
• Proficient in algebra

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Appropriate safety training and protective equipment will be provided
• Lab technician will be responsible for working with potentially hazardous biological and chemical materials
• Occasionally lifting heavy items (up to 50 pounds) is a requirement

Job Duties

• Cleaning glassware
• Preparing solutions
• Pregpping microbiological media
• Autoclaving
• Filling and transporting 5 gallon tanks with purified water
