Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities

• Preparation, set up and clean jobs of chemical laboratory.
• Assistance of lab instructor and students during lab class.
• Handling and disposal of chemical waste.

Duties and Principal Responsibilities

• Preparation, set up, clean up of chemicals, equipment and glassware for use in lab classes.
• Management of the collection and storage of chemical waste generated during lab classes.
• Preparation of unknown samples for student analysis.
• Aiding lab instructor and lab students during lab classes.

Education Requirements

LIU student enrolled in an active degree program

Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience

• Development of specialized skills in the proper preparation of chemicals and other lab instruments.
• The use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and lab safety equipment.
