About the role
The current vacancy is with the Department of Transportation, Airports Division at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.
Responsibilities
- Perform work in the acquisition of lands for public purposes.
- Disposition of public lands for approved public and private purposes.
- Inspection and enforcement of terms and conditions of land dispositions and provisions of public land laws.
- Assist in the preparation of routine transactions including making inspections of lands and enforcement of terms, conditions, statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to the administration and management of State and public lands.
- Prepare reports of findings, including conclusions and recommendations.
- Meet and deal effectively with others.
Requirements
- Legal Authorization To Work Requirement: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree.
- Specialized Experience: Six (6) months of progressively responsible professional experience which demonstrated knowledge of Hawaii Land laws, real estate laws and terminology, the real property appraisal process, various types of land titles and legal instruments affecting land transactions; and the ability to gather and analyze land transaction data; prepare reports of findings, including conclusions and recommendations, and meet and deal effectively with others.
Qualifications
- Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements may apply.
- Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
- Criminal History Records Check: In order to be granted the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within 10 years from the date of the application.

- Sabbatical leaves with pay are available for qualified employees.
- Travel Expenses: The State may pay for certain business related travel expenses including mileage reimbursement for use of a personal car during work, airfare, meals and lodging expenses for trips to neighbor islands or out of state.
