Lamination Supervisor - Overnights
About the Role
C-P Flexible Packaging is a fast-growing essential manufacturing company specializing in digital pre-press, wide-web flexographic printing, extrusion, and adhesive lamination to produce creative flexible packaging solutions. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lamination Shift Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team on the overnight shift (Tuesday-Saturday, 8pm-4am) at our York facility.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about safety, quality, productivity, and employee development. The Lamination Shift Supervisor will oversee production activities across multiple departments, ensuring operational excellence while supporting and developing a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise employees in adhesive lamination, extrusion lamination, and press roll rewinders.
- Drive achievement of production, quality, safety, and productivity goals.
- Monitor machine performance, production schedules, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Analyze production data and utilize metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Scheduling to maintain workflow and ensure material availability.
- Manage staffing levels, vacation scheduling, and shift coverage.
- Oversee employee training, performance management, and professional development.
- Conduct employee evaluations and participate in corrective action processes as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and company operating procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
- Promote a positive culture through employee engagement, communication, accountability, and servant leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience managing production data, reporting, and performance metrics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, ERP/MRP systems, and timekeeping/attendance systems.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with flexographic printing, web handling, converting, lamination, and slitting processes.
- Experience in packaging or related manufacturing environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the production facility.
- Ability to climb stairs and navigate manufacturing environments.
- Ability to become forklift certified.
- Ability to use computers, phones, and related technology effectively.
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing setting and may be exposed to:
- Production equipment and moving machinery.
- Industrial noise levels.
- Inks, adhesives, solvents, and other manufacturing materials.
