Job Summary and Qualifications

The Mother Baby Lactation Consultant Registered Nurse (RN) delivers quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for the care of coupleting postpartum mother/baby combinations or other clinical care duties as assigned. They direct all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice and federal, state, and local regulations. The RN incorporates knowledge of patient’s age-specific development and cultural values into the plan of care. They contribute to quality nursing care through process improvement techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration.

• Direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor.

What qualifications you will need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
• (IBCLC) International Board Certified Lactation Consultant must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
