Lactation Consultant/Maternal Educator

About the role

This position is a part-time Lactation Consultant/Maternal Educator at Cape Coral Hospital, located at 636 Del Prado Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33990. The schedule is evenings from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive maternal, infant, and feeding assessments related to lactation. - Provide education and counseling to clients regarding pregnancy, childbirth, lactation, and parenting. - Demonstrate specialized knowledge and clinical expertise in breastfeeding. - Use principles of adult education when teaching clients, healthcare providers, and others in the community. - Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care. - Support the organization’s vision and mission. - Provide care based on established clinical nursing practice standards.

Requirements

- Registered Nurse experience required. - Minimum of 2 years obstetrical or neonatal nursing experience and/or lactation education experience required. - IBCLC Certification is required upon hire. - AHA BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred. - Experience in obstetrical or neonatal nursing and/or lactation education. - IBCLC Certification required. - AHA BLS certification required.

Pay

$35.04 - $47.30 per hour.
