About the role
Responsible for the provision of breast-feeding education, counseling and care, telephone and outpatient consultation. To support the mother who provides breast-feeding as infant nutritional support. Works closely with the health care team to provide multi-disciplinary services to lactating mothers and their families. Provides education toward planning, implementing and evaluating lactation needs of new parents and their families.

- Observes, assesses, and records work, safety and infection control standards.
- Works both independently and in a team environment.

- Resolves customer complaints and concerns.
- Fulfills the requirements of the IBCLC certification.
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA standards and regulations.
- Communicates effectively through strong verbal and written skills.
- Show compassion and sensitivity for patient comfort.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college preferred.
- Two years of current lactation education required.
Qualifications
- IBCLC certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- NRP certification required.
- Ability to observe, assesses, and record work, safety and infection control standards.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations.
