LACC Painter (FT) Union

About the role

The Painter at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) is responsible for carrying out day-to-day painting needs, including new construction and tenant improvement, drywall taping, mudding and finishing work, furniture staining and finishing, patching walls, roof repair, fine finishing work, concrete sealing, sign making, and painting of all surfaces in the facility.

Responsibilities

• Performs journeyman level work throughout LACC.
• Performs new construction and tenant improvement, drywall taping, mudding and finishing work.
• Furniture staining and finishing.
• Patches walls, roof repair, fine finishing work, concrete sealing, sign making, both interior and exterior painting of all surfaces in the facility.
• Lends support to other trades.
• Answers guest questions regarding the facility.
• Maintains proper care of uniform, equipment and supplies.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have the ability to answer guest questions regarding the facility, maintain proper care of uniform, equipment and supplies, and lend support to other trades. Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, talking or hearing, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving up to 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: Journeyman level painting skills.
• Skills and Abilities: Ability to answer guest questions, maintain proper care of uniform, equipment and supplies, and lend support to other trades.
• Physical Demands: Regularly sits, stands, walks, reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears, lifts, pushes, pulls, and moves up to 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Schedule

The Painter works an onsite schedule that requires in-person collaboration with multiple departments and coverage of events from start to finish.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $33.63 per hour, subject to negotiation based on experience and qualifications.
