About the role
The City of College Park seeks a proactive individual to join their team. This position involves meticulous park maintenance, street-sweeping, and overall landscaping to ensure a serene environment.
Responsibilities
- Independently assess and apply appropriate guidelines and procedures.
- Operate various lawn and grounds maintenance equipment such as blowers, weed eaters, and hand tools.
- Maintain and manage landscaping duties around public buildings, parks, and right-of-ways.
- Perform manual labor tasks using hand tools and other equipment.
- Assist in event coordination and set-up as needed.
- Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance to the supervisor.
- Participate in overtime and weekend work as needed.
- Lead and assist in event coordination and set-up as requested.
- Comply with safety and security standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid Driver's License issued by the State of Georgia.
- Experience in communicating with diverse communities and establishing cooperative working relationships.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Extensive hours and weekends may be required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of City and department policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
- CPR.
- Knowledge of materials commonly used in construction, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Basic understanding of Landscape Management practices.
- Ability to perform general equipment/tool maintenance duties.
- Ability to interpret instructions and efficiently carry them out with general supervision.
- Effective analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and time management skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse constituents.
- Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment.
- Dependability.

- Moderate physical activity.
- Handling objects of average-weight up to one hundred (100) pounds.
- Standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
