Laborer - Data Center

Job Summary

The Fiber splicing Helper/Laborer will Assist the Fiber Splicing teams and actively learn fiber splicing for both loose tube and ribbon fibers, will learn and assist with fiber optic testing, No experience is necessary.

Job Duties

• Pair up with certified fiber splicers and learn the day-to-day jobs of a fiber splicer which includes but not limited to, Fiber optic cable prep, splicing, testing, Fiber Optic cable placement in a OSP and ISP environment.

Job Competencies And Skills

• Fieldwork which may include overtime, weekends, holidays, and off hours.
• Perform data center cage and overhead ladder rack in accordance with industry standards.
• Read and follow design engineers’ instructions and specifications, maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures.
• Able to pass a drug screening.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices and communication networks.
• Able to pay close attention to detail and make good sound decisions based on information given.

Education Level

High School/GED

Physical Requirements

• Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl;
• Lift 75 lbs;
• Works in all weather conditions.
