Laborer

About the role

The Wichita South Transfer Station is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Transfer Station Laborer to join their team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the solid waste industry and learn about heavy equipment operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain litter control and overall cleanliness throughout the facility
• Safely guide trucks in and out of the tipping floor area
• Direct traffic entering and exiting the facility in a safe and professional manner
• Communicate effectively with scale house personnel and equipment operators
• Clean pits and work areas as needed
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Aid with general site maintenance and housekeeping duties

Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical labor throughout the day
• Strong attention to safety and situational awareness
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment around trucks and heavy equipment

Pay & Schedule

• $18.00 per hour
• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• No weekends
• Eligible for a $275 monthly safety bonus
