About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to clean and prepare construction job sites for the erection of structures and buildings. The role supports the company’s guiding beliefs and core values centered on Quality, Safety, Production, and Customer Satisfaction, all built upon the foundation of Integrity.
Responsibilities
- Stack lumber, wood products, reinforced steel, tools, miscellaneous materials, sacks, containers, and other products on floors, decks, trailers, or in bins to supply the job site.
- Dismantle wood forms, remove concrete rubble, spread dirt, sand, and other materials using handheld tools, and remove nails and hardware to salvage material.
- Remove paint, lacquer, and other finishes from wood or concrete products, and sand rough spots to prepare surfaces for finishing.
- Inspect, organize, and clean materials and tools, such as extension cords, electrical tool cords, and other tools on the job site.
- Change blades and other parts for tools and equipment, adjust belts on tools, and inspect tools and equipment as needed.
- Maintain an adequate supply of drinking water and associated supplies for cooling stations.
- Assist in measuring materials and surfaces.
- Keep Form Setters, Rodbusters, Concrete Finishers, and other workers supplied with materials, tools, and equipment to facilitate setting forms, reinforcing steel, and pouring/finishing concrete.
- Maintain equipment and tools to ensure long-lasting use.
- Maintain confidentiality by not disclosing any confidential, proprietary, or trade secret information belonging to the Company.
Requirements
- A minimum of one year or more of experience in the construction industry, along with a basic understanding of construction principles and procedures (preferred).
- A high school diploma or GED (preferred).
- Ability to work in constantly changing weather and site conditions.
- Physical ability to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach to perform everyday job tasks.
- Commitment to observing and fulfilling all safety responsibilities to maintain a safe workplace.
Schedule
Flexibility to work different shifts and long hours (8-12 hours). Weekend work and extra hours occur based on production needs and at the discretion of the Crew Supervisor.
