Laborer

About the role

This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the flow of production.

Responsibilities

• Observe all safety rules and policies maintained by the company
• Maintain material inventory
• Move raw material through installation area
• Assure proper parts specifications (size, dimensions, gauge, etc.) for marine products completion
• Assure sufficient part supply at all processing stations
• Move completed parts from installation area to shipping area
• Assist in repair work as necessary
• Maintain good housekeeping practices

• Read and process written communication including, but not limited to measurements, directions, instructions, etc.
• Help production meet goals and time deadlines for company projects

• Operate appropriate office equipment including screw, rivet guns, and impacts, etc.
• Physically lift and maneuver weights in excess of fifty pounds
• Possess successful problem-solving skills
• Exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with supervisors, fellow team members, customers, etc.

• Prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires 98% standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type

This is a full-time hourly position. Typical hours are Mon–Thurs 5 am–3:30 pm.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Manufacturing/industry experience preferred
• Use of hand tools
