Laborer

Responsibilities

• Perform labor-intensive work, including lifting 75 pounds or more.
• Adhere to CARDS Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA requirements, and all local, state, and federal laws.
• Report unsafe situations, service-related issues, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
• Attend and participate in scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Manually or mechanically load and empty residential and/or commercial containers into trucks, including curbside, dockside, carryout, or pullout service.
• Operate hoisting devices to lift and empty bins or containers into truck hoppers.
• Assist drivers with backing maneuvers while on route.
• Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, such as closed streets, heavy receptacles, or safety hazards.
• Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
• Perform duties as scheduled and assist other drivers to meet customer needs.
• Clean and prepare job sites.
• Pick and sort materials using tools and machines such as forklifts, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, and pressure washers.
• Identify and sort materials for proper organization.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Unload customer material by hand.
• Assemble and disassemble containers.
• Drive and deliver containers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 10–12 hour shifts. Additional hours may be needed.
