Laboratory Technician I

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine chemical and/or metallurgical analytical tasks at assigned site.
• Collect samples, which may include collection from rail cars or trucks in some locations.
• Prepare samples for analysis using established tests and techniques.
• Assist with or perform routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting.
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of math, chemistry, and/or computer skills appropriate to the assignment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
• Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.
• Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Prior laboratory-related work experience.
• Strong computer skills.

Pay

The estimated pay range for this role is $21.00 - $29.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
