Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities
- Analyze facility effluent in accordance with EPA testing methods and Evoqua SOPs.
- Enter results into databases and report findings to appropriate personnel.
- Perform sampling, testing, and acceptance of client waste deliveries following SOPs.
- Enter information into computer databases and tag waste in compliance with RCRA Part B Permit.
- Provide notification if discrepancies are identified.
- Operate laboratory instruments and maintain calibration to ensure accurate test results.
- Conduct wet chemical analysis and ion exchange testing using current SOPs.
- Prepare and standardize laboratory reagent solutions; manage lab supplies and reorder as needed.
- Conduct lab safety meetings when directed and maintain housekeeping standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of an AA or equivalent in chemistry, environmental science, or chemical engineering.
- One year of experience in industrial, inorganic analytical testing.
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry, specifically related to metals, cyanides, and toxics.
- Ability to work in proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, toxic-inorganic waste streams, fumes, and odors.
- Must be able to initiate and exit the plant within one minute and respond to audible alarms.
- Ability to work in hot conditions for extended periods.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including hardhat, face shield, safety glasses, earplugs, and respirator.
- Able to traverse the building and grounds.
