About the role

TÜV SÜD America is seeking a highly organized and hands-on Laboratory Operations Technician to support daily laboratory operations at our Alpharetta, Georgia facility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the overall organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness of the laboratory.
  • Ensure laboratory workspaces, storage areas, and test areas are properly maintained and organized.
  • Support compliance with laboratory quality procedures and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
  • Aid with laboratory audits, inspections, and corrective action activities.
  • Maintain laboratory records and operational documentation.
  • Receive, inspect, and log customer test samples into laboratory tracking systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of sample locations, status, and disposition.
  • Cookp and coordinate movement of samples between testing areas.
  • Manage sample storage and retention areas.
  • Prepare and coordinate return shipments of customer equipment.
  • Maintain chain-of-custody and sample traceability records.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Package and prepare customer equipment for shipment.
  • Verify shipment contents against packing documentation.
  • Work with carriers and internal teams to resolve shipping issues.
  • Maintain shipping records and tracking information.
  • Maintain calibration schedules for laboratory equipment and assets.
  • Cookordinate calibration activities with external service providers.
  • Track calibration status and ensure equipment remains compliant and available for use.
  • Perform routine equipment verification checks and readiness inspections.
  • Maintain equipment inventory records and asset databases.
  • Cookordinate equipment repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Assist with installation, relocation, and commissioning of laboratory equipment.
  • Monitor laboratory infrastructure and identify facility-related issues.
  • Cookordinate facility maintenance requests and follow-up activities.
  • Manage laboratory consumables, supplies, and inventory levels.
  • Support laboratory safety initiatives and housekeeping activities.
  • Assist with workspace planning and laboratory improvement projects.
  • Assist with engineers with test setup preparation.
  • Assemble basic test configurations, fixtures, cables, and support equipment.
  • Document equipment configurations and test setups.
  • Capture photographs and supporting documentation for test projects.
  • Perform other laboratory support activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Logistics, Quality, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Experience managing inventory, equipment, assets, or technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Experience

  • Working in a laboratory, manufacturing, calibration, testing, or quality environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems.
  • Experience with equipment calibration programs and asset management systems.
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical or electronic equipment.
  • Experience working with ERP, asset management, or laboratory information systems.
