Laboratory Supervisor - Microbiology

Role: Laboratory Supervisor overseeing the Microbiology department. Responsibilities: Supervise daily lab operations, ensure accurate and timely testing, train and mentor staff, monitor workflow, manage staffing, resolve production errors, implement process improvements, maintain equipment and quality records, evaluate new procedures, conduct coaching sessions, perform bench work, ensure compliance with regulations, administer policies, and handle administrative tasks including payroll and personnel files. Qualifications: Associate’s degree in a science field, 5+ years of clinical testing experience, FL State Microbiology Supervisor License. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, 6+ months leadership experience, ASCP or AMT certification. Skills: Knowledge of lab operations, CLIA and state regulations, proficiency with lab systems, attention to detail, strong communication, decision-making in changing environments, physical ability to perform job duties, flexibility for overtime/shifts.
