Laboratory Supervisor - Microbiology

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily lab operations, ensuring accurate and timely testing and reporting.
• Train, mentor, and manage laboratory personnel, monitor workflow, and schedule staff coverage.
• Research and resolve production errors, implement process improvements, and maintain equipment through Quality Control.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, prepare Quality Assurance records, and evaluate new processes.
• Conduct coaching sessions, perform technical bench work, and handle administrative duties including payroll and personnel files.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a relevant science field; Bachelor’s preferred.
• 5+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience, with Microbiology license.
• Leadership experience, strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and state regulations.
• Proficient in laboratory information systems.
• Detail-oriented, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions in a changing environment, and pass a color blindness test.
• Flexibility for overtime or shift changes.
