Laboratory Supervisor - Microbiology

Role: Laboratory Supervisor overseeing the Microbiology department. Responsibilities: Supervise daily lab operations, ensuring accurate and timely testing and reporting.Train, mentor, and manage laboratory personnel, monitor workflow, and schedule staff coverage.Research and resolve production errors, implement process improvements, and maintain equipment through Quality Control.Ensure compliance with regulations, prepare Quality Assurance records, and evaluate new processes.Conduct coaching sessions, perform technical bench work, and handle administrative duties including payroll and personnel files. Qualifications & Skills: Associate’s degree in a relevant science field; Bachelor’s preferred.5+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience, with Microbiology license.Leadership experience, strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and state regulations.Proficient in laboratory information systems, detail-oriented, with excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to work independently, make decisions in a changing environment, and pass a color blindness test.Flexibility for overtime or shift changes.
