Laboratory Supervisor - Microbiology

Role: Laboratory Supervisor overseeing Microbiology department operations. Responsibilities: Supervise daily lab activities, ensure accurate and timely testing, mentor staff, manage workflow and staffing, resolve production errors, implement process improvements, maintain equipment and quality records, evaluate new procedures, conduct team coaching, perform bench work, ensure compliance with regulations, administer policies, and handle administrative tasks such as payroll and personnel files. Qualifications: Associate’s degree in a science field, 5+ years clinical lab testing experience, FL Microbiology Supervisor license. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, 6+ months leadership experience, ASCP or AMT certification. Skills: Knowledge of lab operations, CLIA/ CAP/ state regulations, proficiency with lab systems, attention to detail, strong communication, decision-making in dynamic environments, physical capability, and flexibility for shift adjustments.
