Laboratory Supervisor, Histology
About the role
The Histology Supervisor oversees the technical, operational, and administrative functions of the histology laboratory to ensure accurate, high-quality testing and timely reporting of clinical results. This role leads daily laboratory operations, maintains quality and regulatory compliance standards, and supports operational excellence through effective workflow coordination and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily laboratory operations

- Support operational excellence through effective workflow coordination and inventory management
- Provide leadership for laboratory staff through scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management
- Help drive continuous quality improvement and exceptional patient care
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Histology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical, physical, or biological science
- 5–7 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, including histology and anatomic pathology
- Demonstrated supervisory or management experience
- HT or HTL (ASCP) certification preferred
- ASCP certification required, or equivalent certification acceptable with extensive histology experience
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5–7 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, including histology and anatomic pathology.

- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
- Knowledge of histology techniques and procedures
