Histology Laboratory Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operations of the Histology and Mohs Laboratory.
• Oversee processing of approximately 40-70 H&E specimens daily.
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and all applicable regulatory standards.
• Maintain laboratory quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) programs.
• Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate Histotechnologists and Mohs Technicians.
• Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory policies and procedures.
• Perform and oversee routine histology procedures, including:
• Embedding
• Microtomy
• H&E staining
• Frozen sections, as needed
• Learn and oversee Mohs frozen section preparation if not previously experienced.

Qualifications

• Required: HT or HTL (ASCP) certification preferred.
• Previous laboratory supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on experience processing dermatopathology specimens.
• Experience performing routine histology procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage laboratory operations.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to satellite clinics.
• Preferred: Mohs laboratory experience.
• Preferred: Frozen section experience.
• Preferred: Experience supervising Mohs laboratory operations.
• Preferred: Strong knowledge of CLIA regulations and laboratory compliance.
• Preferred: Experience with dermatology specimens and laboratory quality management.

Pay

$5,000 relocation assistance (with a 2-year commitment)

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Flexible scheduling available

No routine weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities

Occasional after-hours issues may arise due to supervisory responsibilities
