Laboratory Supervisor - Hematology

About the Role

This position oversees daily laboratory operations, ensuring accurate testing, timely reporting, and compliance with regulations. The role involves staff training, workflow management, process improvement, and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily lab operations and ensure accurate testing and reporting
• Train, mentor, and coach laboratory staff
• Manage workflow, staffing, and resolve production errors
• Improve processes and evaluate new procedures
• Maintain laboratory equipment and quality records
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and manage policies
• Perform bench work as needed
• Handle administrative tasks such as payroll and personnel files

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field
• 5+ years of clinical testing experience
• Florida Hematology license
• Ability to pass a color blindness test
• Flexibility for shift work and overtime
• Attention to detail and familiarity with high-volume lab environments

Preferred Skills

• Supervisory experience
• ASCP or AMT certification
• Knowledge of laboratory regulations
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt to change
