Hematology Lab Supervisor
About the role
Seeking a Hematology Laboratory Supervisor to provide expertise and champion results. This role involves supervising technical and non-technical laboratory personnel, assigning areas and shifts, overseeing processes, service levels, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities also include developing monitoring systems for quality assessment and improvement, resource utilization management, and coaching, guiding, training, and developing staff.
Responsibilities
- Supervise technical and non-technical laboratory personnel and assign areas/shifts
- Serve as a supervisor and/or participant in processes, service levels, and regulatory compliance
- Manage functional areas such as technical disciplines, specimen collection, processing, and testing
- Develop and implement monitoring systems for quality assessment and improvement data
- Monitor resource utilization, including payroll, supplies, and expenses
- Participate in monitoring and reporting of client volume and revenue variation reports, outpatient volume reports, mileage and expense logs
- Screen, interview, and select qualified individuals for open positions within the department
Requirements
- A 2-Year/Associate Degree in Science or Medical Technology is required
- A 4-Year/Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology is helpful
- A State of Florida Supervisor’s License OR the ability to obtain a license during the interview process
- 5 years’ experience as a Medical Technologist
- Prior supervisory experience is beneficial
- Licensure in 3 technical specialties preferred
Qualifications
