About the Role
The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor for Specimen Collection and Processing oversees daily operations of phlebotomy and specimen processing.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staffing, workload, and quality of specimen collection and handling.
- Provide leadership to coordinators and teams, ensuring compliance with CAP, CLIA, and safety standards.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff; maintain SOPs and participate in quality assurance and process improvements.
- Coordinate communication between departments, ensure proper equipment use, and manage supplies and budgets.
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and serving as a resource for specimen collection best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
- Supervisory experience and familiarity with word processing/spreadsheets required.
- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting desired; licensure or certification (e.g., ASCP) preferred but not mandatory.
