Laboratory Services Technician I

About the role

The Lab Services Technician will provide a wide range of laboratory services including: Specimen collection. Client service and reception desk duties, ordering/ scheduling/ billing functionsLaboratory testing. Phlebotomy, dispatching. Specimen processing. Centrifuging, delivery of specimens to appropriate lab/ department. Assuring proper efficiency and workflow management and ECG tracings.

Responsibilities

• Provide specimen collection services.
• Perform client service and reception desk duties.
• Manage ordering, scheduling, and billing functions.
• Conduct laboratory testing, including phlebotomy and ECG tracings.
• Process specimens efficiently and ensure proper workflow management.
• Assist hospital and clinic staff with questions related to specimen handling and processing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Health care experience, including phlebotomy.
• Completion of a health care program (e.g. CMA, EMT, Paramedic, phlebotomy).
• Phlebotomy Certificate strongly recommended.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
