Laboratory Services Technician I
About the role
The Lab Services Technician will provide a wide range of laboratory services including: Specimen collection. Client service and reception desk duties, ordering/ scheduling/ billing functionsLaboratory testing. Phlebotomy, dispatching. Specimen processing. Centrifuging, delivery of specimens to appropriate lab/ department. Assuring proper efficiency and workflow management and ECG tracings.
Responsibilities
- Provide specimen collection services.
- Perform client service and reception desk duties.
- Manage ordering, scheduling, and billing functions.
- Conduct laboratory testing, including phlebotomy and ECG tracings.
- Process specimens efficiently and ensure proper workflow management.
- Assist hospital and clinic staff with questions related to specimen handling and processing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Health care experience, including phlebotomy.
- Completion of a health care program (e.g. CMA, EMT, Paramedic, phlebotomy).
- Phlebotomy Certificate strongly recommended.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
