Laboratory Manager

About the role

This position manages the daily operation of the Laboratory, covering both the Ticonderoga and Elizabethtown locations. The Manager works collaboratively with technical staff and coordinates activities with the Medical Director as part of the management team.

Responsibilities

• Personnel management and staff development
• Goal setting and budget input
• Teaching and communication
• Test management and policies/procedure management
• Cost management
• Laboratory Information System (LIS) maintenance
• Delivering outstanding customer service

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology (hospital-based formal internship required)
• ASCP, NCA, or equivalent certification is highly recommended
• Meets minimum requirements for laboratory supervisor as described in NYS Dept. of Health regulations 58-2.4
• NYS Education Department (NYSED) License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (preferred)
• Four years of clinical laboratory experience (preferred)
