Laboratory Intern - Embryology

About the role

The Laboratory Intern - Embryology position is available at Shady Grove Fertility in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time. Employment is estimated to start on September 22, 2026, and end on March 26, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Observe proper sample collection specific to the reproductive field
• Observe andrology procedures including assessment of semen quality, sperm preparation for intra-uterine insemination and sperm cryopreservation (freezing)
• Observe Andrology and Embryology sample preparations (i.e. labeling and aliquoting)
• Observe Embryo vitrification preparation (i.e. straw labeling)
• Provide support for embryo biopsy sample shipping
• Perform charting and review of patient results
• Document quality control for procedures and equipment used in the laboratories
• Perform and document inventory, ordering, and stocking of laboratory supplies
• Aid with special projects that add value to the lab
• Perform general office duties and other tasks as requested by physicians, director, and embryologists

Qualifications and Skills

• Must be a student currently enrolled in the Drexel University cooperative education program (Co-op)
• Experience in an embryology/andrology laboratory preferred
• Technologically proficient, highly organized, and detail-oriented
• Ability to multitask, support team, and demonstrate a willingness to assist as needed without prompt
