Laboratory Assistant I

Support laboratory operations by performing a variety of tasks that ensure efficient and accurate execution of lab tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory operations:
  • Incoming sample inspection and administrative functions (25-35%)
  • Database entry and customer setup (e.g., LIMS) (25-35%)
  • Laboratory sales of biological indicators, environmental samples, and other consumables (10-20%)
  • Professional and courteous interaction with customers and couriers to support sample management (10%)
• Perform laboratory support duties:
  • Laboratory cleaning, bench setup, media and supply preparation, inventory, and QC documentation review (5-10%)
  • Basic testing execution (e.g., SCBI Testing) (0-10%)
• Contribute to a team effort by adhering to STERIS policies, GMP, safety, Lean principles, and other directives (5-10%)
• Support decisions of higher-level management and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience in customer service, data entry, or an office setting

Schedule

Sunday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Pay

Pay range: $17.37 - $22.47 per hour based on experience. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
