About the Role

As the Administrative Coordinator at Acton Medical Associates, part of the Optum family, you will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Laboratory under the direction of the Laboratory Manager. This role ensures efficient and accurate delivery of services, including patient services, record management, facility management, inventory control, training, and special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and provide excellent patient servicing.
  • Treat co-workers, clinical staff, and patients with respect at all times.
  • Maintain efficient patient flow-through and schedule/monitor patient appointments.
  • Monitor recall book and process patient orders accurately upon arrival to the Laboratory.
  • Obtain missing orders, missing information, and verify unclear test orders according to established procedures.
  • Observe HIPAA & PHI (Protected Health Information) regulations at all times.
  • Assist in training new staff/interns.
  • Perform clerical duties including faxing, filing, and mailing correspondence.
  • Resolve pending lists such as pending orders, expired preorders, and expired standing orders.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, problem resolution, and staff meetings.
  • Stay informed on all policy and procedure changes in a timely manner.
  • Follow established safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Manage time and work assignments to accomplish day-to-day duties as well as special projects.
  • Adhere to Acton Medical Associates, PC policies and procedures, including attendance, time off, and standards of conduct.
  • Ensure adequate coverage during periods of short staffing and unscheduled absences.
  • Bring problems and concerns to the Laboratory Manager or Clinical Director in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High school education or general degree (GED) or 1+ years of related experience in the medical field or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical receptionist experience and/or background are desirable.
  • Previous public contact experience may be substituted.

Pay

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment, depending on several factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
