About the Role
Under the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory, the Medical Technologist Coordinator assists the Director in providing overall direction of the Laboratory, oversees day-to-day operations of the Microbiology department, and ensures testing accuracy, regulatory compliance, and team efficiency. This role manages QC/QA processes, supervises lab personnel, and maintains protocols that meet CLIA, CAP, and FDA standards. The candidate will also work as a Generalist in the core lab.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Laboratory in providing overall direction and leadership for the Laboratory.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Microbiology department.
- Ensure accuracy of testing and regulatory compliance with CLIA, CAP, and FDA standards.
- Manage quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) processes.
- Supervise laboratory personnel and maintain operational protocols.
- Work as a Generalist in the core laboratory.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and completion of an approved training program for Medical Technologist.
- MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Medical Technologist.
- 1-3 years of Microbiology experience preferred.
- Certification per unit-specific competency (e.g., BLS, CPI, etc.).
