LABOR RELATIONS MANAGER (REMOTE-NEW ENGLAND)

About the role
Compass Group, the world’s leading contract foodservice company, is seeking a Labor Relations Manager to join our team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for career development and growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying and implementing strategic labor objectives that align with business goals.
- Collaborate with HR and Operations to educate employees on organized labor issues, providing insight into company policies, procedures, and labor-related best practices.
- Support the negotiation and management of labor agreements, including planning, strategy development, and execution to achieve competitive and cost-effective labor agreements that align with Compass Group’s standards.
- Assist in managing grievance and arbitration processes to maintain labor relations integrity; represent the company in mediation and arbitration proceedings as needed.
- Provide training and advice to operational management on compliance with CBAs and help foster a positive labor relations environment, aiming to minimize litigation.
- Administer multiple labor agreements concurrently, ensuring adherence to negotiated terms and effective issue resolution.
- Offer training and guidance on employee relations and CBA compliance for supervisory and management teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations, Business, or Human Resources; JD or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in labor relations, employee relations, or human resources in a unionized, multi-site environment.
- Ability to manage and negotiate multiple CBAs simultaneously, with a track record of achieving cost-competitive, strategic outcomes.
- Experience in objective investigations, grievance handling, and preparing for arbitration proceedings.
- Strong negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Willing and able to travel 40%+ by air and automobile.
- Experience in food, vending, and support services is advantageous, along with current knowledge of National Labor Relations Act rules and precedents.
- Bilingual capability (e.g., Spanish) is preferred.
- Proficiency in remote communication and negotiation technology.
Pay
Salary: $125,000–$145,000. Bonus eligible.
