Responsibilities
- Analyzes and interprets collective bargaining agreements and advises management and union officials in development, application, and interpretation of labor relations policies and practices.
- Represents management in labor contract negotiations to reconcile opposing claims and recommend concessions, or propose adoptions of new procedures.
- Analyzes collective bargaining agreements to interpret intent, spirit and terms of contract.
- Compiles information on disagreement and determines points of issue, according to knowledge of labor business and government responsibilities under law.
- Advises management and union officials on development, applications, and interpretation of company labor relations policies and practices.
- Leads Grievance procedure including arbitrations and assists all levels of management on labor matters.
- Schedules meetings between parties in labor disputes to investigate and resolve grievances.
- Maintains compliance with union labor contract terms by monitoring implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, and working conditions.
- Supervises work activities of employees involved in labor relations functions of organization.
- Completes statistical reports on cases, findings and resolved issues.
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Labor Relations, Business, or Industrial Engineering.
- Policies and practices involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution, including strategic planning, resource techniques and production methods.
- Laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.
- Human behavior, performance, mental processes, psychological research methods and assessment and treatment of behavioral and effective disorders.
