About the role

The Labor Relations Consultant provides professional support to the Program Director, Labor Relations. Key responsibilities include fostering positive working relationships with labor unions, resolving union disputes, and ensuring compliance with labor laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional support to the Program Director, Labor Relations
  • Foster positive working relationships with labor unions

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements
  • Maintain strong communication with unions and leadership
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; five (5) years of professional human resources experience in employee or labor relations; additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, and federal, state, and other applicable human resources related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances; knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including those pertaining to collective bargaining and employer-employee relations
  • Skills: Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products; skill in oral and written communication; ability to analyze and solve problems; ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws

Qualifications

Additional qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, and federal, state, and other applicable human resources related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including those pertaining to collective bargaining and employer-employee relations
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws
