Labor Inspector 1
Nature of Work
The Labor Inspector I position is a full-time Safety Consultant role within the West Virginia Division of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Consultation Program. This role focuses on providing voluntary, non-enforcement compliance assistance, through safety consultations, to high-hazard, private-sector employers. Candidates are home based and will travel within their area of assignment to conduct safety consultations. These consultations will consist of identifying various types of hazards, assisting with interim protection for serious hazards, providing abatement recommendations, providing informal and formal training to employees and management, and assisting with S&H OSHA Programs, and OSHA Recordkeeping requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent.
- Training: Hands-on job training will be provided.
- Special Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license.
