Labeling Clerk (Entry Level)

About the role

The Labeling Clerk plays a vital role in the laboratory process by supporting specimen receipt and preparation, creating accurate records, and assisting with reporting results. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced laboratory environment. No prior laboratory experience is required—just a willingness to learn and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Accession, unbag, and label specimens accurately.
• Enter and update patient, physician, test, and billing information in the system.
• Produce and apply barcode labels; prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Communicate with facilities and clinical staff to resolve missing or unclear information.
• Identify and report ALERT test results to nursing staff, following documentation protocols.
• Maintain accurate records, audit reports, and a clean, organized work area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Comfortable working with biohazardous materials and using appropriate PPE at all times
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time

Schedule

Monday-Friday, with alternating Saturdays: 12:00 PM-8:30 PM
