Lab Technician
About the role
This position involves conducting laboratory analysis with hands-on bench work, completing laboratory reports, maintaining knowledge of analysis methods, and assisting with equipment maintenance and calibration. The Lab Technician prepares chemical solutions, adheres to safety and internal standards, and performs other assigned duties.
Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory analysis with hands-on bench work.
- Complete all applicable laboratory reports.
- Maintain current knowledge of laboratory analysis methods.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Adhere to laboratory safety and reporting techniques.
- Follow internal standards, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associate Degree in a science discipline or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related science field (new graduates welcome).
- Experience in crude oil assay distillation per ASTM D2892 and ASTM D5236.
- Experience in Wet Chemistry, QC, and GMP.
- Proficiency in D5002, D97, UOP 163, and D4294 for Crude Assay Technician.
- Ability to interpret data, tables, graphs, control charts, and complete raw data sheets.
- Capability to compute rates, ratios, percents, and material quantities.
- Ability to synthesize and evaluate information for crude assay trending properties.
Skills
- Proficiency in Chemistry, Laboratory, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance.
- Good organization skills and detail-oriented.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Capability to work in a routine, repetitive, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to interpret various instructions in oral, written, diagram, electronic, or schedule form.
- Adherence to ethical standards and integrity.
- Ability to work with chemicals, petrochemicals, and petroleum products.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.

Work Environment
