Lab Support Specialist (Phlebotomy) - Malta Med Emergent Care

About the role

We're seeking a dedicated Lab Support Specialist to join our team and contribute to the high-quality, compassionate care we provide. Key responsibilities include performing phlebotomy techniques, interpreting and transcribing physician orders, assisting in lab functions, and training new employees.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy techniques to obtain blood specimens on patients of all ages.
• Interprets and transcribes physician orders onto manual requisitions and into the computer Order Entry System.
• Performs all medically necessary activities required along with assisting in lab functions as needed.
• Affords assistance in training new employees.
• Assists in clerical functions of the department.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Prior phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.
• Certification or eligibility with a recognized board of registry recommended.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks while utilizing critical thinking skills.
• Excellent customer service skills, integrity, friendliness, and compassion.
• Flexible to take initiative and embrace new opportunities to grow.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Pay

$17.79 – $26.65 hourly, based on experience and qualifications.
