Lab Supervisor
Supervision of Teaching Assistants
Provides supervision of teaching assistants and supplies the undergraduate laboratories with required equipment and materials.
Responsibilities
- Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure.
- Supervises Teaching Assistants while they teach in the laboratory.
- Furnishes chemicals, equipment handouts, etc., as required each week.
- Determines the amount of supplies and chemicals needed, and places necessary orders.
- Trains Teaching Assistants in undergraduate laboratory procedures.
- Disposes of all waste in the proper manner.
- Repairs equipment and keeps laboratories clean and in good working condition.
- Reviews syllabus and laboratory schedules.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
