Lab Services Coordinator-Research

About the role

The Clinical Research Center (CRC) is a hospital-based research unit within The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, located on the 2nd floor of Davis Outpatient Care. Core areas of the CRC include the Analytical and Development Laboratory, Processing Laboratory, Research Nutrition Laboratory, Study Coordination, and Nursing. The CRC provides services for research in both inpatient and outpatient studies.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prepare, process, document, store, and track research specimens in accordance with established laboratory protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
• Support research studies by ensuring samples are handled accurately, efficiently, and consistently while maintaining data integrity and specimen chain of custody.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Health related Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: 2 years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Lab experience desired.
• Working knowledge of the principles, operations, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and procedures required.
• Background in molecular biology and biochemistry desired.
• Computer literacy required with a working knowledge of Microsoft software programs desired.

Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Schedule

This position is located on the University Hospital campus and is required to be on site Monday–Friday during business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
