Lab IT Support Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Lab IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on IT and laboratory computing support at a regulated pharmaceutical site. The role will troubleshoot hardware, software, workstation, and basic network issues while supporting critical site operations.

Location: North Jersey, NJ
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Environment: 24/7 Pharmaceutical Site

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on Enterprise IT and Lab IT support to site and laboratory users.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, Windows, workstation, and connectivity issues.
• Install and configure software, applications, and IT equipment.
• Support laboratory computers, peripherals, and related systems.
• Assist with Active Directory groups, user access, and file permissions.
• Document incidents, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions.
• Follow IT procedures, change controls, and site compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with Enterprise IT, laboratory, engineering, and other site teams.
• Provide flexible support for a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays when required.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on IT support experience.
• Strong troubleshooting experience with hardware and software.
• Experience with Windows operating systems and enterprise applications.
• Basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting knowledge.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharma, biotech, laboratory, healthcare, or other regulated industry experience.
• Lab IT / laboratory computing experience.
• Active Directory and file/folder permissions experience.
• Experience with IT ticketing/ITSM systems.
