About the role

RMC is hiring an IT Lab Systems Support Specialist to support our customer in Dahlgren, VA. The selected applicant will:

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer support in installation of IT Hardware/Software to support lab simulation launching kinetic weapons from various platforms.
  • Configure IT Hardware and Software in lab to support customer needs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as upgrading hardware/software and installing required patches to ensure optimal performance of lab equipment.
  • Conduct operational tests on lab equipment to ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Conduct required troubleshooting procedures of IT hardware and software to maintain availability of lab equipment.
  • Manage account access to lab equipment.
  • Maintain detailed records of hardware configurations, troubleshooting steps, and other relevant information.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret clearance is required to start.
  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • IAT Level II (Information Assurance Technical) or higher DOD 8140 under specialty area 45(Security+) within 60 days of start.
  • Five (5) years of experience with demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan or schedule the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems and applications software; manage accounts, access to systems and equipment; maintain systems configuration; and manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates and enhancements.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with Linux

Pay

The current salary range for this position will be $85,000 to $115,000 annually.
