Lab Associates Coordinator - Phlebotomists
Additional Information About The Role
Barnes Jewish Hospital seeks a Lab Associate Coordinator to play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care. The position offers full-time employment (40 hours per week, M-F, no weekends or holidays).
Key Responsibilities
- Serve our patient population by providing coverage and performing phlebotomy, when needed
- Monitor staffing, workflow, and daily operations
- Process sendouts and ensure all staff are competent in sendouts
- Serve as first contact for questions and communication
- Conduct multi-floor visits and ensure consistency
- Support onboarding and training
- Perform quality/safety spot-checks and audits
- Observe and report concerns, trends, and issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Responsible for overseeing all technical functions for specimen collection and processing
- May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-5 years supervisor experience
Overview
The role purpose is to supervise laboratory activities to ensure prompt, accurate, and precise performance of procedures according to department and hospital policies and procedures. This includes responding to business changes affecting budget goals and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
