Christian Hospital has a full-time Lab Associate III opportunity for experienced candidates. Preferred candidate must have experience with phlebotomy. Perfect for someone organized with great communication skills.

Northwest HealthCare, six miles west of Christian, offers 24-hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services. The Histology Laboratory performs a wide variety of routine histotechnologic procedures and histochemical stains. Our Immunohistochemistry area performs over 100 antibodies on both tissue sections and cytology specimens.

Role Purpose

Performs a variety of pre analytic, analytic and post analytic laboratory duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency, sweat chloride collections, EKG's, etc.
• Under supervision, reports test results as appropriate.
• Sorts and processes routine and specific high-level specimens received by the lab—including multistep technical processing (i.e. Histology, Microbiology, Cytology, etc.).
• Ensures correct processing and packaging for esoteric send-out tests.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Inventory management, equipment cleaning, maintenance, loading, etc.

Requirements

• 2-5 years experience required
• High School Diploma or GED
• No supervisor experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Phlebotomy certification
